Dry Skin Hands - Is it Eczema

If dry skin hands are causing discomfort then you can almost be sure that it will be eczema on your hands that is the problem. This needs to be treated the same as eczema anywhere else on the body - with great care. Common triggers are water or harsh chemicals or a combination of both.
Dry skin hands can be extremely uncomfortable. Lets face it, we use our hands for everything. They can make normal day to day chores become a problem. A few tips to manage the dry skin hands are:
When cooking try to keep contact with raw meats, onions, garlic, fruits and fruit juices to a minimum by wearing gloves as these will cause irritation.
Try to avoid constantly washing hands, I know that this can not interfere with hygiene. When you do have to wash them only use natural unscented soap and do not rub to dry them but gently pat them dry.
Use natural, unscented skin care and shampoos - you will be surprised once you start to look at the ingredients.
Look at the products that you do your everyday cleaning with. Try to go more towards the natural products to clean the house instead of the harsh chemicals.
If possible when washing your hair use gloves to protect hands from the excess water.
When cleaning always wear gloves to protect hands.
Try to use only luke warm water as the sudden change to either hot or cold will make your dry skin hands worse.
These are just a few of the many tips available. To find out more about eczema and free eczema tips visit my blog and my eczema Squidoo lens.
When treating Dry skin hands be careful not to use a moisturizer which main ingredient is water as this can more often than not be the main trigger. If the moisturizer has a lot of water in it, it will not be good enough to relieve eczema on hands.
